Willingham Youth Trust

In 2008 a questionaire was sent around every home in the village and the results of the survey were used to produce the Willingham Village Plan. To help to make the plan work Willingham Action Group, (WAG) was established to work alongside Willingham Parish Council and South Cambs District Council. One of the requests in the survey was for a village youth club. Connections Bus was brought to the village as a temporary solution to the problem. A sub group from WAG, looking at the youth work in the village, became Willingham Youth Trust which became a charitable trust in 2010 in order to attract funds to run a youth club and provide a building. The parish council has £25,000 from one of the building companies for capital use which needs to be matched funded. Whilst the Trust has been succesful in attracting funds for running costs we are now in the process of looking for funds to provide a new youth centre. Plans for conversion of two store rooms in the Ploughman Hall were submitted to the County Council in February 2012. Come along and see the plans, meet the team and try some of the games we have at an open presentation meeting on Wednesday, April 25th, 8.00 in the Baptist Church Hall, George Street.
